Don't execute Troy Davis!!!

blackacrylic:

Please send this quick email in support of Troy Davis who has been sentenced to death by the State of Georgia for murder despite overwhelming evidence that questions his guilt. Troy Davis has refused his last meal and supporters are being asked to show solidarity by fasting with him - I will be doing so. We must remember that Troy Davis is not the only Troy Davis and also look at the bigger picture which is capital punishment. My thoughts are with Troy Davis and his family. Please reblog and spread awareness. We shouldn’t give up hope!

This is just another manufactured crisis.

The downgraded credit rating and debt crisis are manufactured by our corporate overlords to justify further cuts to the public sector. I can guarantee three things will result from this: the rich will be made richer, and the poor will be made poorer, and this poverty will disproportionately effect oppressed people; like women and people of color.

What if Congress looked like America?

And a step further, what if the CEOs of America’s corporations looked like America? What if all the leadership reflected the population? To have this dream, we seriously need to deal with discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, class, religion, immigrant status, and disAbility. We have to start, or continue, having tough conversations in our communities and begin to effect systemic changes.

Mother Jones:
“A Harvard business prof and a behavioral economist recently asked more than 5,000 Americans how they thought wealth is distributed in the United States. Most thought that it’s more balanced than it actually is. Asked to choose their ideal distribution of wealth, 92% picked one that was even more equitable.”
