Interracial Couples Banned from Kentucky Church

Their reasoning: “to promote greater unity.” In other words, greater unity amongst their arian brothers.

furtherlightandtruth asked: Hi. Your cartoon about race relations has a fundamentally racist message: that somehow past racism justifies racism today. As for the argument that "whites in America today still benefit from 'white privilege.'" FYI, my grandparents were impoverished and uneducated immigrants from Europe and the Middle East. My parents grew up poor, and I grew up working class. The way to fix Affirmative Action is to make it NEED-based instead of RACE-based. Fortunately for me, some colleges do this :-)

^^^^^ This is the problem with race relations today. So many privileged folks think they know something about racism today, and they haven’t read a single book, and they refuse to listen to any person of color on the issue. It’s all about whatever non-sense, non-facts they can vomit up.

The problem with the conversation around affirmative action today is white folks, and many others, actually think black folks are somehow now getting preferential treatment because of it. The fact is: most of the affirmative action laws were stripped of their power during the Reagan error.

Today, there’s no serious retribution for schools or companies if they aren’t serious about diversity. And here’s another news flash: affirmative action has existed for white folks for the past 500 years. First, it was called chattel slavery, then it was called Jim Crow and apartheid.

And even today, colleges have affirmative action for white folks. They have policies like: if your grandfather went to this school then you have a better chance of getting in. Hmm, my grandfather was considered a monkey that didn’t deserve to go to the same schools as white folks, so because of racism there’s no chance of that policy working for me.

Yet little to no white folks recognize this. And they can vomit up these “my family pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps” stories. Well my family were told that bootstraps were for whites only.

Reverse Racism: One of those non-sense terms white people made up to try to equalized the effects of racism.

Racism = Racial Prejudice + Power. It’s a structural norm of white preferential treatment (or white supremacy) in various institutions.

Washington Times editorial: Obama hates whites, US gov't "is a bit too diverse."

If you need to get a good sad on, go ahead and read through the comments, too.

I’ve run out of things to say about all of this, except to say the Washington Times is essentially the print version of Fox News (although it did used to have an okay sports page and coverage of DC-area pro and college teams).

Or let me put it this way: Sometimes the Washington Times makes The Oklahoman look like Mother Jones. Sometimes it’s the other way around, depending on who the Gaylords have a vendetta against at the moment, but yeah.

On the other hand, white presidents aren’t called “racists towards white folks” (as if racism towards white folks exist, it doesn’t) if they promote inclusion and diversity. But the second our black president, or any black person for that matter, promotes diversity they somehow hate white people. This is white supremacy at its finest folks.

How dare you suggest in this ad lockerz.com/s/130486212 that Black men who appear with…

WTF! It’s ads and statements like these that make me want to shove these images in the faces of post-race, color blind, neo white supremacists (both white and non-white) and say, “See! Do you see why we need to have serious discussions around race in this country?” Then again I don’t expect most post-race, color blind folks to view this as racists—but I hope that they would. And I don’t pretend to argue that racist images of black folks is the only reason we need dialogue around race and ethnicity, but it’s certainly a dehumanizing issue that needs to be solved.
